This command makes any selected Optional ingredient not optional any more, indicating that it is really required in preparing the recipe. This command marks any ingredient in a recipe as Optional, indicating that the ingredient is not essential to making the recipe. When any Main Ingredients (the ones shown underlined) are selected in a recipe, you can “unmark” them as such with this command. When ingredients in a recipe are selected, this command marks them as Main Ingredients of the recipe, shown by underlining their names. The Modify... button lets you modify the title or notes of a selected meal (double-clicking the meal itself does the same thing). The New Meal button groups any recipes you have selected into a Meal, letting you provide a title or descriptive note about the meal. The Clipboard button adds any selected recipes to the Recipe Clipboard. You can also just drag and drop them onto the button using the mouse. Double-clicking the button opens the Recipe Clipboard. The Shopping List button adds recipes to the Shopping List. You can select them by clicking on them and then hit the button, or just click, drag and drop their titles onto the button. Double-clicking the button opens the Shopping List window. This button will set the scaling for selected recipes in the Clipboard list, so that when you print the recipe(s) or make a Shopping List from it/them, all their ingredients will be adjusted.
